Dying Light is a survival horror videogame developed by Techland. It is available for PlayStation 3, PS4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This title deals with a zombie apocalypse, which is a bit of an overdone theme for games nowadays. We have already seen this a million times, always with slight variations to justify new titles such as mind controlling funguses that infect mankind, radiation, regular zombie viruses… The zombie gold mine doesn’t seem to have a end anytime soon.
Overall, the game looks like a mix between Mirror’s Edge and a next-generation Dead Island. It is played from a first-person perspective and melée weapons and close combat techniques are important. However, Dying Light offers enough good things to stand out from other zombie titles. Graphics are stunning, with detailed scenarios, realistic lighting effects and dozens of zombies onscreen that don’t make the game drop frames at all.
Dying Light goes a little further using common elements seen in other titles of the genre
The main character is far more agile than the regular apocalypse survivor. You can climb up walls and obstacles effortlessly, which is the best way to stay safe. You can also use your free running skills to jump over zombies (which is pretty spectacular) or deliver powerful kicks to take those rotten monsters down. You are free to face zombies if you want to, in fact you can easily kill one or two with your bare hands. However, this is not Dead Rising; if you spot an incoming horde, you'd better run for your life.
Good Night Good Luck
Dying Light goes a little further using common elements seen in other titles of the genre, but also includes new features, like the previously mentioned parkour skills. There is also one feature that makes things more challenging: zombies turn into violent killing machines when the sun goes down. I know this is not too innovative, as we already found this feature in Dead Rising 3, but honestly, I didn’t even notice any major change in zombies’ behavior except for the red bright eyes.
In Dying Light, zombies change dramatically: during the day you can dodge them, pass through them without being harmed and outrange them by climbing walls. Well, you can forget about these things after dusk. Zombie rage becomes stronger, faster and even more unpredictable. If you face them, they fight back, if you flee to higher ground, they will climb up after you. The only thing you can do to stay alive is run.

Zombies, open world role and parkour combine to offer a fun adventure full of action and tension.

Dying Light is a title that gets bring interesting developments in the already beaten subgenre of titles based on zombies. Parkour as an essential gameplay mechanics works well, both when climbing and pure phases over platforms. To this is added a sense of tension and constant need to survive where death penalized, we have limited resources, weapons break, zombies are harder than usual and there is a good variety of extremely dangerous monsters. This day-night (impressive night time) cycle, and the development of character and our team will give us a good dose of fun to be multiplied with the cooperative to four players. But the title does not escape many ups and downs that end up affecting the whole experience. Development too irregular main plot missions uninspired and monotonous, fighting with upgradable bosses and other details such as management of the contentious checkpoints or the radical change that suffers the game in the final stretch in relation to the increased presence of weapons fire, just leaving a feeling of "yes, but". Funny, with great moments, but far from all solid promises in its first hours.
- The hardness of zombies and the challenge to play night
- The cooperative, with elements of fun and compete with friends
- Excessive presence of firearms in the last part of the title and a disappointing end battle
PARKOUR AND ZOMBIES IN THE SAME GAME?!?! YEAH THAT IS DYING LIGHT

Developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros, Dying light introduce us to and open world first person zombie apocalypse. We play the role of an undercover agent named Kyle Crane who is send to a city called Harran.
Dying light gots a day-night cycle were we better be in a safe zone during the night because the enemies become a lot more aggressive and deadly compared with the days when you will be able to go through the city doing missions and getting supplies. Traveling through the city will be safer above buildings and that free running “parkour” part make this game different and an original one. You got a lot of eastereggs to discover along the story and a lot of side quest that will make your mission funnier. One of the best eastereggs in this game is the MARIO BROSS FIRST LEVEL and it was very funny to play.
MY OPINION:I enjoyed a lot playing this game with my friends because you can play the game online with friends and make it some funnier. The best part of this game is the feeling of jumping through buildings and it is really realistic so don’t try to fly or jump from two floors, you are not playing assassins creed. I recommend you to play it.
- A lot of eastereggs and side quest to enjoy.
- It is an open world.
- Might you need a good pc to run it.
